Creating this university has been a dream of mine for decades.
Creating this university has been a dream of mine for decades. When I started working in Islamic translation in 2000, I searched for specialized courses or academic studies to master this precise field but found none. So, I began working as a volunteer for Islamic websites and those of preachers. These efforts were monumental in figuring out how to start, what to study, and how to reach the highest levels. After years of experience and learning, I decided to establish Al-Andalus Group for Islamic Translation, a company entirely dedicated to translating Islamic content and sharing it globally through translation and voice-over.
Many people applied to work with us, but there was always something missing in their resumes:
- An excellent translator without the necessary Sharia background.
- A beginner translator with good Sharia knowledge but insufficient language skills.
- Someone with good Sharia knowledge and language skills but not a professional translator.
Therefore, my goal was to create a platform that qualifies translators and helps them find their opportunity in the Islamic translation market.

Never underestimate any detail in translation.
My journey into the world of translation began in 2006, a step that marked the start of an incredible adventure. My first real experience came after passing an entry test for a website dedicated to Islamic translation. Just one week into the job, I faced a pivotal moment: a review meeting with my supervisor. To my shock, the entire file I submitted was filled with red marks instead of the expected black text. This was my introduction to the “Track Changes” tool used by reviewers to highlight edits. Seeing my work covered in corrections was a significant blow.
As I went through each correction, I told my friend, “They’ve changed every comma and period; nothing was left untouched.” This was my first crucial lesson: never underestimate any detail in translation. Every comma, period, and exclamation mark matters. There is no insignificant detail.
I continued working with this mindset, learning from every mistake and avoiding it in future tasks. Gradually, the red marks decreased, and my work started appearing almost entirely in black, with only minor corrections.
I realized that practical application is the essence of translation. Everything I learned theoretically in college was excellent, but without application, it was useless. The biggest challenge for beginner translators was finding someone to correct their work and point out their mistakes for future improvement.
This is where my dream was born: to create a platform that provides beginner translators the opportunity to have their work reviewed, corrected, and guided towards excellence.
Merging Dreams
This led to the idea of creating a training course on Islamic translation, providing the essential foundations for distinguished translators who want to specialize in this field. The course includes basics of Arabic language, Sharia sciences, and the intricacies of Islamic translation. The most crucial part is practical training, where trainees practice Islamic translation themselves, identify their strengths and weaknesses, and understand what they need to improve. These training samples are corrected by experienced reviewers in Islamic translation, who provide their feedback to help the trainees improve gradually. This culminates in a research project as a graduation requirement for the diploma in Islamic translation training.
We worked tirelessly on this diploma for ten years until it finally came to light in 2022, a year after establishing the university. The idea of creating a dedicated university emerged due to the presence of various training courses in translation, voice-over, dubbing, and languages, covering all aspects of Islamic content translation.
Our dream continues, and with Allah's will, we will achieve it by establishing a college for each of these branches, ensuring the highest level of specialization and professionalism. Our current dream is to spread this knowledge to qualify as many translators as possible who want to specialize in translating Islamic content in all its forms, as well as voice-over artists who want to specialize in recording Islamic content to convey the message of Islam to the world in all known languages.
If you share the same vision and dream, join us in spreading our story to reach as many people as possible who share our passion and goal.
